Gefen EXT-HDMI-EDIDP HDMI Detective Plus
Save the EDID from your HDTV Display
When repeatedly switching output devices (such as a display or projector), some HD sources can lose the display device's ID, model and manufacturer information, resulting in picture problems.
The Gefen HDMI Detective Plus captures and store this device information (known as EDID, or Extended Display Identification Data). The result is that the video source always knows what device it will be connecting to and never gets out of synchronization.
How It Works
The Gefen HDMI Detective Plus is attached to the display device. Power is applied and the HDMI Detective Plus reads the EDID from the display device and stores it. The HDMI Detective Plus is removed from the display device and placed at the HDMI output of the source device. Smooth, glitch-free switching is now observed.
Note: The HDMI Detective Plus supports HDCP.
A separate HDMI Detective Plus is needed for every HDMI source that has switching problems.
There must be no intermediate devices between the HDMI Detective Plus, the HDMI source, and the HD display.
