The LEI-589 is a high performance Closed Caption Decoder for SD SDI system. It is capable of processing and displaying all standard closed caption format transmissions. This includes the codes specified by the FCC Report and Order on General Docket No. 91-1 and EIA-608 recommended practices for Captions, Text and XDS.
Nine standard data channels are supported by the LEI-589: Caption channels 1 through 4 (CC1-CC4), Text modes 1 through 4 (T1 through T4), and Extended Data Services (XDS). The various operating modes are selectable from through a rotary encoder and two push-button switches.
Packaged in LINK's compact 700 Series chassis, the LEI-589 is both rugged and reliable. If desired, it may be rack mounted along side two other 500 or 700 Series units of any mix.
Through the "menu" it allows the user to turn off the open caption black background and display characters only.
The LEI-589 operates on AC line voltage between 85 to 264 VAC, The front panel has a 8 Charcter Dot Matrix Display that provides information about the operating performance. The front panel also has two push button switches used as Aenter@ and Aescape@ and a rotary encoder for the selection of caption information. The Aenter@ switch is used to select the specific options.
The rotary encoder is used to browse through the caption or text information. The Aescape@ switch is used to go back to the previous menu item. The menu selections may be obtained clockwise or counter-clockwise on the rotary encoder for ease of setup.
In addition, the LEI-589 is backed by a standard 10-year warranty. High performance, flexibility, and economy are equally represented in the LEI-589 Open Caption Decoder.
The output will not have ancillary data such as audio, VITC, and EDH on it.
