The IEC-721 Black burst Generator provides the user with two precision Black burst and two SMPTE Color Bar outputs. A loop-through black burst input is provided for gen-locking to an external reference or it can be used as a stand-alone generator.
The stable internal time base and its flawless output signals place it a cut above the competition at a price that makes it attractive to the most cost conscious buyer. Factory adjusted to RS-170A standards, the IEC-721 is perfect for the studio, remote locations, or production facilities where an economical yet accurate multiple outputs are needed.
The color bar output can be programmed to alternate between SMPTE color bars and black burst making the video active. The timing interval between for the active flip is adjustable between 1 and 10 units. This feature is very helpful to confirm if the feed is still live. SMPTE color bars or black can be selected for 2 or 4 outputs and can be independently timed in pairs of 2.
In addition, the IEC-721 has an eight-character display for showing the function under adjustment. Two pushbutton switches are used for "ESC" and "Enter". The front panel LED displays H and V timing numbers for audit and confirmation. A rotary encoder selects the function for precise adjustment.
An infinite Gen-lock timing range makes the IEC-721 ideal for timing the output signals into the studio facility. The four outputs of the IEC-721, color bar and black burst, are adjustable over the entire H and V infinite timing range.
The IEC-721 operates on an external +5 VDC power supply. The power supply has two options, wall mount or chassis unit of the same style as the IEC-721, model PPS-702. The PPS-702 has two +5 VDC outputs to power two IEC-721's. The IEC-721 can mount in the PRT-700 along with the PPS-702 power supply.
