FastVDO's SmartCast is a video capture, H.264/AAC encoder and live streaming device

Unparalleled ease of management: SmartCast offers a unique remote configurability feature. With FastVDO's Control Center you can securely login and control all the SmartCasts you own from anywhere without any port forwarding or firewall setups. SmartCast can also remember settings and start streaming on power-up. SmartCast also offers recording the live stream to an SD card for VOD applications after the live session.

SmartCast captures analog NTSC/PAL video and analog stereo audio (L/R), digitizes and compresses the video/audio data using the latest video and audio encoding technologies (H.264/AAC) to deliver high quality multimedia at low bit rates. Captured and compressed video/audio is streamed live (RTP/UDP) over an Ethernet interface. While having a portable form-factor and using very low power, SmartCast allows encoding at various bitrates and interfaces with a broad spectrum of AV sources. Live broadcasting, distance learning, field acquisition, surveillance, news gathering, and a host of applications are now available in a compact, cost-effective form. SmartCast design is rugged, flexible and customizable to various networks, interfaces and content.

This versatile device features:
  • Capture, encode and stream NTSC or PAL source
  • Advanced video and audio coding (H.264 and AAC)
  • Simultaneously encode and stream up to 2 independent AV channel
  • Full D1 resolution support (also resize video from 160X120 up to 720X480/576)
  • Streaming at bitrates from 32 kbps up to 4 Mbps
  • Stream video only or audio only data
  • Remotely set parameters and control streaming through Control Center
  • No static IP or port forwarding required
  • Compatible with Wowza media server, Darwin Apple server and broadcaster
  • H.264 and AAC streams compatible to play in Flash player, VLC, Quicktime and others.
  • Small form factor and light payload for unmanned and reconnaissance applications
  • Capture, compress and stream live news, sports, interviews and more...
