This is the economical version of our Black Commando Duvetyne Cloth , (also known as duvatyne or duvateen). It's half the weight at just 8 ounces. Black Duvetyn is the most cost effective flame-retardant black masking fabric available. Light absorbing, brushed matte finish of a plain denim weave. Use when there are no light sources behind the masking, such as below stages or in front of a dark wall. It's the most common black masking fabric in the TV and Entertainment industry. Though opaque, it is lighter and more economical than velour. Used on hollywood sets, TV production studios, in theatre, industrial shows, special events, and stock draperies.
