The M6205A-3G +UpMix is a sophisticated audio processing platform card with optional processors designed for broadcast use. It can extract and process up to 16 channels of audio embedded in a digital video stream. The M6205-3G accepts 3G, HD-SDI and SD-SDI signals. In addition two AES inputs are provided to enable substitution of the embedded audio signals. The card may also be used as a one group embedder. Functions of the card include channel shuffling, channel replacement or substitution, and mixing. With the task specific processor, DTS Neural Surround UpMix technology can output 5.1 surround sound from stereo source material.
KEY FEATURES:
• Stereo to 5.1 Surround Sound
• 5.1 output
• Compatibility with all stereo signals including matrix-encoded Lt/Rt signals
• Dialogue is properly placed in the center channel within a multichannel mix
• Can create discrete-sounding elements in the surround channels
DTS Neural Surround UpMix spectrally separates individual audio elements and places each in its intended location within the surround environment. This results in unparalleled image placement and stability. DTS Neural Surround UpMix does this without compromising the artistic license of the content creator. Stereo content can be translated into width and depth information, creating a pleasing and enveloping surround image for the listener. Matrix-encoded Lt/Rt stereo signals can be upmixed, providing a higher quality surround sound experience than that of traditional matrix technologies.
The M6205A-3G extracts, processes, and re-embeds the audio providing two SDI outputs with the embedded processed audio. In addition the card provides AES copies of the processed audio. The M6205A-3G complies with SMPTE 272M, SMPTE 299M, and SMPTE 424M standards. Cable equalization and reclocking techniques enable the M6205-3G to recover the incoming 3G, SD-SDI or HD-SDI signal reliably. The M6205A-3G is housed in the openGear DFR-8300 series frames.
