The Markertek Fund has been a consistent force in our community and beyond for 20 years. It is recognized both locally and nationally for its hands-on, interactive philanthropy.

The primary vision of the Markertek Fund is helping those who need emergency food and shelter right here in our community with an ongoing, annual account at The Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York.

Each dollar Markertek donates to the Food Bank provides $10-$12 in real food to local soup kitchens, food pantries, emergency shelters, senior, day care and medical rehabilitation sites. These food and shelter providers reap the rewards and experience some peace of mind by having an established, consistent source for emergency food.

The Regional Food Bank and the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley partner together in providing 23 NY counties with over 20 MILLION pounds of food to over one-thousand emergency food providers.

The Food Bank also obtains additional advantages from our consistent contribution. The Markertek Fund commitment improves their status in applying for federal and state grants and matching funding challenges.

The Markertek Open Charitable Golf Tourney
Our annual Markertek Open charitable golf tournament was established in1997 and has raised almost two-hundred-thousand dollars for local charities.

Held the second Saturday in July, the Markertek Open has been sold out every year! Markertek employees, along with vendors and sponsors from all over the country, engage in a friendly, first-class, charitable golf tournament.

Markertek donates time, money and products and our employees often hold leadership positions as board members, volunteers and organizers of major community events.

Donation Guidelines
Markertek charitable donations are given to non-profit, emergency food and shelter providers in the Hudson River Valley area of New York State.
To request a donation, please follow these guidelines:

• No phone, fax or email requests please
• All requests must be typed on your organization's official letterhead
• Include a copy of the IRS Department of Treasury Letter of Determination verifying the organization's tax exempt status or 501(c)(3) paperwork
• Contact name, mailing and physical address and phone number
• A brief statement of the organization's mission, goals, accomplishments, governance and geographical area served
• Amount of request, how the grant funds will be used and a description of who will benefit from our donation
