Helping those in need
Markertek donates time, money and products, while our employees often hold leadership positions as board members, volunteers and organizers of major community events.
The Markertek Fund has been a consistent force in our community and beyond for 30 years. We have been recognized locally and nationally for our hands-on, interactive philanthropy. The primary vision of the Markertek Fund is helping those who need emergency food and shelter right here in our community.

We set up and fund an ongoing, annual account at The Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York and Food Bank of the Hudson Valley for local soup kitchens, food pantries, emergency shelters, senior care, day care and medical rehabilitation sites.

Every donated $1 = 4 meals of real food to those in need. These food and shelter providers reap the rewards and experience some peace of mind by having an established, consistent source for emergency food.

The Markertek Fund’s commitment improves the Food Bank’s ability to apply for federal and state grants and other matching funds challenges. The Regional Food Bank and the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley partner together to offer 23 NY counties over 30 MILLION pounds of food to 1,000+ emergency providers.

Markertek Fund Donation Guidelines
Markertek charitable donations are given to non-profit, emergency food and shelter providers in the Hudson River Valley area of New York State.

To request a donation, please follow these guidelines:

No phone, fax or email requests please
  • All requests must be typed on your organization's official letterhead
  • Include a copy of the IRS Department of Treasury Letter of Determination verifying the organization's tax exempt status or 501(c)(3) paperwork
  • Contact name, mailing and physical address and phone number
  • A brief statement of the organization's mission, goals, accomplishments, governance and geographical area served
  • Amount of request, how the grant funds will be used and a description of who will benefit from our donation

The Markertek Open Charitable Golf Tournament
Markertek’s annual charity golf tournament was established in 1997 and has since raised over $700,000.00 for the Food Bank. Markertek employees, along with our vendors and sponsors from all over the country, participate in this friendly, first-class, charitable golf tournament. Full event Sponsorship, along with ‘Special-Tee’ support, fantastic raffle prizes and a full day of golf indulgence have participants raving at an event that sells out every year!
