History
Canare was founded in 1970 by Kimio Kawamoto in Nagoya, Japan. The company's name is derived from the Kanare River, which ran near the office. In 1977, the introduction of the innovative, high-quality, low-noise microphone cable put Canare on the map as a significant player in the A/V industry.

In February 1983, Canare Cable, Inc. was established in Los Angeles, California, and sales began throughout the United States. Sales agents were established in Canada, the UK, France, and other countries as bases for collecting information, and sales channels were expanded worldwide.
