SoundTools is the brainchild of renowned sound engineer Dave Rat of Rat Sound. While serving as Front of House Engineer on tour with Rage Against the Machine in 1996, Dave had issues with a mic line that turned into every audio pro's nightmare: a delayed show. This experience led Dave to ask, "What if there was a simple way to troubleshoot bad mic lines?" After some pondering and a little trial and error, he invented the XLR Sniffer/Sender, the first remote end cable tester on the market. Since then, Dave has continued to create innovative tools that make life easier and solve the everyday problems that audio pros face.
