Artel's 10G4POE/UI PTP Ethernet Switch delivers POE+ power on 24x 10/100/1000 local Ethernet Ports, and it has 4x 10G Uplink SFP Ports. These Carrier Class Switches are designed for highly accurate nanosecond timing and control. IEEE 1588 PTPv2 with all clocking modes, plus NTP v4, means Quarra switches are ready for Media Broadcast, ProAV, Defense, and Industrial application and is ruggedized for heavy use.
The device supports all possible clocking modes, including Ordinary & Boundary Clocks, Peer to Peer Transparent Clock, End to End Transparent Clock with Hardware Timestamping (The switch adds timestamps to PTP event packets as they enter and exit the Switch). Super accurate clock synchronization means the unit is well suited for 5G networks, multi-media/video, and industrial applications (including support for the Modbus TCP protocol). Support for QoS CoS/DSCP increases determinism.
The PTP-10G4POE has been tested as fully interoperable with SMPTE 2110, SDVoE (Tx/Rx), AES67, and Dante. Grandmaster integration testing has been performed with all standard Grandmaster Clocks, such as Meinberg and Sonifex.
Support for NTP v4 (Network Time Protocol), including sNTP, improves time-resolution and frequency stability, works well with IPv6, and enhances security with key cryptography to protect against malicious time synchronization hacks.
POE Monitoring, Scheduling, PD Alive Check, and PoE Priority are included, and LEDS indicate PoE Output Power. The device also supports the PoE PD Alive Check Function for PoE Device Power Recycle.
The unit boasts powerful switching features including a 128Gbps Switch Fabric, 8 Priority Queues, 9216bytes Jumbo Frame, 16K MAC Table Size, and 12Mbits Packet Buffer. Traffic Management is done with IEEE 802.3x flow control to manage traffic to prevent network congestion and data loss. And the unit supports IGMP Snooping v1/v2/v3, up to 512 groups, and DHCP Relay Option 82 for policy IP address assignment and RSTP, MSTP, ERPS, LACP for Network Redundancy and Ring Protection.

The Quarra PTP-10G4POE is used as a Precision Timing Protocol Leaf Switch, connected locally using 24x 1G POE Ethernet to IP media broadcast gear and aggregating to Spine Switches using 4x 10 Gig SFP Ethernet (Fiber).
