How It Works
The Gefen GF-EXT-HDe-HBT3 uses HDBaseT 3.0 technology to transmit uncompressed 4K60 4:4:4 video and multi-channel audio over a single CAT6a cable up to 328 feet (100 meters). Connect your HDMI source to the Transmitter (TX) unit, which encodes the 18Gbps signal and transmits it to the Receiver (RX) at your display location. Use the HDMI Loop-Out on the TX for local monitoring - with a built-in 4K-to-1080p downscaler if your local display doesn't support 4K.
Supports Flexible Audio Return
Uses eARC, ARC, or Optical (S/PDIF up to 5.1ch) to send audio back from the display to the source, or de-embed PCM 2CH audio via the optical output on the transmitter. DIP switches let you select the preferred audio routing mode. Bi-directional Power over Cable (PoC) means you only need to power one unit - it supplies power to the other through the CAT6a cable. Bi-directional IR and RS-232 pass-through provide full control integration, and the Ethernet port enables network connectivity at the remote endpoint.
LED Indicators Provide Real-Time Status
Power (Blue), Link (Green), Video (Multicolor: Green/Red/Blue), and eARC (Green). An integrated pattern generator and HDCP toggle simplify testing and signal verification without external equipment.
