The Ikan PT417-TM-TK is designed for quick and easy setup, allowing it to work efficiently in studio or broadcast applications. The teleprompter includes a 65/35 reflective glass that makes the reflection easier to see for the presenter. The lightweight aluminum teleprompter has multiple 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads for mounting to a tripod or pedestal. The monitor includes SDI, HDMI, AV, and VGA video inputs. Its high-brightness screen ensures clear visibility in any lighting condition. An intuitive image flip button allows for easy adjustment of the display orientation. The monitor also features a wide viewing angle.
Using Beam Splitters for Teleprompters
Ikan’s teleprompter beam splitter glass allows a presenter to read from a teleprompter screen while maintaining direct eye contact with the camera or audience. The 3mm thick optical-grade glass features a front surface mirror coating with 65% transmission and 35% reflection, along with an anti-reflection (AR) coating on the rear to prevent ghosting. This design ensures clear, color-neutral images for the camera and easy-to-read text for the presenter.
Built-In Tally Light for On Air Status
The prompter monitor features a tally light that illuminates red and green. A green tally light is typically used to indicate that a camera is in preview mode. This means that the camera's output is being sent to a monitor, but it is not currently on air. This allows the talent, director, and production crew to check the composition, focus, and other aspects of the shot before it goes live. A red tally light is used to indicate when a camera is live or on-air.
Extreme Clarity
The glass is coated so that it reflects 65% of the light projected onto it while allowing the remaining 35% to pass through. This unique characteristic enables the presenter to read the reflected script text clearly, projected from a monitor below or behind the glass, while simultaneously allowing the camera positioned directly behind the glass to record through it without capturing the reflected text.
Versatile Teleprompter Monitor
The 17" monitor features SDI, HDMI, AV, and VGA inputs. The native resolution is 1280x1024, and the max brightness is 1000 nits. The OSD adjustment menu allows adjustment for contrast, brightness, backlight, tint, chroma, and sharpness. You can also adjust the intensity of each RGB color channel. The aspect ratio can be set to 16:9, 4:3, full, or it can be set to automatically detect the aspect ratio and adjust it accordingly.
Rolling Hard Case
The rolling hard case is designed to accommodate the full teleprompter system, including the teleprompter base, risers, hoods, glass, monitors, and power supplies. The Injection Molded Mil-Standard Waterproof Case is crafted from ultra-high-strength polypropylene copolymer resin. This case includes a gasket-sealed, water and dust-tight design, ensuring it is submersible and complies with MIL-STD 810H standards. It is designed to withstand corrosion and impact damage.
Widescreen Talent Monitor
The 19" Widescreen Talent Monitor is designed to conveniently attach below the teleprompter to enable on-screen talent see their presentations live. The monitor features 3G-SDI, HDMI, AV, and VGA inputs. The native resolution is 1920x1080 HD, and the max brightness is 1000 nits.
