The ultimate fiber optical test and diagnostic tool for network engineers, system installers and outside production technicians, the Camplex TL-1605 OTDR (optical time domain reflectometer) is the cost effective way to analyze the overall health of your single mode fiber optic cables.
How it Works
This user-friendly OTDR is perfect for both experienced professionals and beginners. Simply connect your fiber optic cable and press a button to initiate a test. The device uses short light pulses to analyze and report on the cable length, its signal loss and identify how far down the cable any bends, twists or breaks exist. All information is reported on its built-in 3.5" touchscreen for easy interpretation.
Optical Power Meter
The device features an integrated OPM which allows the Camplex TL-1605 to provide both reflectometry and power measurement functions in one device. An OPM helps measure the absolute power level of your optical signal. It provides direct power measurements by way of dBm (decibels relative to 1 milliwatt). This helps verify optical signal strength at different points in the network and aids in determining the proper loss budgeting of your fiber optic links.
VFL Meter
Visual Fault Locator is another handy diagnostic tool that is part of this unit. Where the OTDR provides a more in-depth look at cable health, VFL functionality simply injects a visible red laser light into a fiber cable permitting users to visually determine light leakage, poor splices, cable breaks and other fiber optic cable fault points more instantaneously. This can be a great option for shorter length cables.
The TL-1605 has USB-C connectivity which provides dual purpose functionality allowing the unit to be charged but also provide PC connection for reporting purposes. It is compact and portable for field, studio or server room use and provides accurate diagnostics to optimize your fiber optic performance. All told, this is a powerful multifunction tester that's an essential part of any technician's suite of tools.
Note: The unit houses an SC connection at the top. We recommend a Camplex SC to ST Inline Adapter or a Camplex ST Female to SC Male Tac-Adap for easy cable connections.
