RU-RN22 - Overview

The Radio Design Labs RU-RN22 modules are Dante/AES67 audio network interface products compatible with microphones and line-level audio equipment inputs and outputs. These modules are designed to be mounted in equipment racks, closets, conference tables and on shelves or backboards in commercial/industrial installations.

The RU-RN22 has 2x analog mic/line inputs, 2x Dante/AES67 network digital audio channel inputs, 2x Dante/AES67 network audio channel outputs and 2x analog mic/line outputs. Each output stage, local analog or network digital, is driven by an incorporated mixer fed from all four RU-RN22 inputs. Independent control of all mixer levels plus multiple DSP filters with adjustable parameters make the RU-RN22 far more versatile than a basic format converter. Each DSP filter may be set to None (audio pass-through), High-Pass, Low-Pass, Shelf High or Low or Notch Boost/Cut. Multiple filters may be set to the same function to obtain higher order filtering.

The RU-RN22 factory default settings provide high-quality converters that feed professional line-level outputs from 2x Dante/AES67 network received audio channels. Those settings also convert 2x analog line-level, dynamic or condenser microphone sources to Dante/AES67 network audio channels. The RU-RN22 provides an XLR or a detachable terminal block for connection to each analog input or output. Normal operating line level is +4dBu balanced for -18dBFS. The balanced terminal blocks may be wired unbalanced.

Flexible I/O and Mixing Capabilities
The RU-RN22 features an internal mixer making it even more versatile than a standard Dante/AES67 format converter. Each output stage, whether local analog or network, can be fed from any input channel with independent control of all mixer levels.

Superior Audio Performance
The RU-RN22 delivers studio quality audio, as demonstrated by its ultra-low noise floor, 2ms latency and < 0.05% THD. Audio performance can be further tailored through customizable low pass, high pass, shelving and peaking filters.

Comprehensive Control
The RU-RN22 can be configured, monitored and even updated over the network using RDL Console 3 software. For hardware-based control, the RU-RN04 is compatible with D-NMC1R and D-NLC1R network-based remotes, providing simple end user control over volume, presets and other parameters.
