The Ross SFP-MADI-COAX is a coaxial MADI transceiver SFP module used in Ross Video systems (such as Ultrix and Carbonite frames) to add 56/64-channel digital audio I/O over coax. This audio SFP is specifically designed to support MADI signals. This audio SFP is designed to transmit and receiver audio MADI signals at 125Mbps over 75Ω coaxial cables via HD-BNC connector. The cable driver inside the audio SFP output a MADI signal compliant edges and voltage levels. The module is compliant with AES10-2003 electrical specification.
MADI over coax (AES10) is specified for 328ft (100m) using standard RG59. Up to 492ft (150m) using high-quality low-loss 75Ω broadcast cable (Belden 1505A, 1694A, etc.). The Ross SFP-MADI-COAX follows this exact standard because it is a compliant MADI transceiver.
