West Penn quickly became a major supplier of professional cable for broadcast and industry applications. Today, as a founding member of the NSCA (National Systems Contractors Association), West Penn continues to help advance technology in the commercial electronic systems industry. In 1990, they became part of Cable Design Technology (CDT), and in 1993, West Penn expanded their reach into the broadcast cable market. In 2004, CDT merged with Belden Cable, which extended West Penn's size, scale, and scope. They design and manufacture cables, harnesses, and related products for small, mid-sized, and Fortune 500 companies worldwide, as well as higher education institutions, healthcare organizations, government agencies, and houses of worship.
