The MXL Revelation II is a studio microphone that delivers the warmth and intimacy of a classic tube microphone with a lush mid-range providing a unique color and sound to any microphone locker. A dual gold-sputtered, 6-micron diaphragm and hand-selected EF86 pentode tube provide warmth and character giving the Revelation II an iconic sound. The Revelation II's variable selection knob allows for limitless transitions between cardioid, omnidirectional, and figure-8 polar patterns. Whether you record vocals, instruments, percussion or simply use it as a room mic, the MXL Revelation II brings a classic sound in any recording application.
The MXL Relevation II uses an EF86 tube that requires a dedicated power supply unit (included with your microphone). Even if your mixer has phantom power, it is recommended that you turn off the phantom power as a precautionary measure when it is not needed to power other mics that you might also be using.
