The Nixer WL64-4 Ravenna is a 1RU compact rack mounted 64 channel Ravenna monitor and mixer - featuring Wi-Fi adaptor and 4 independant stereo mixers from 64 shared inputs, Each mix can be controlled via an iPad/iPhone using the Nixer Remote app, large LCD display, 2x 24V DC inputs, redundant network connectors, AES67 compatibility.
The WL64-4 rack mount Audio over IP (AoIP) audio monitoring unit operates in conjunction with the Nixer Remote iPad App. The WL64-4 provides a "base unit" for the monitoring and mixing of AoIP sources from a Dante or Ravenna network. Each unit is configured at time of purchase to be Dante or Ravenna. The Nixer Remote App allows audio to be wirelessly streamed to an iPad for local monitoring, freeing the Operator from a dedicated hardware front panel display and equipment rack. As standard, each WL64-4 can have four iPads connected wirelessly and each Operator can select and listen to sources independently as well as creating their own individual mixes. Each iPad is able to stream audio wirelessly to the internal speakers, headphone output or via Bluetooth. The audio can be selected in a simple "Listen" or "Mix" mode.
The Nixer Remote Control App has been designed to allow a user to control a WL64-4 unit, which is connected to an AoIP network, via an iPad and offers the ability for each user to assign local pictures and source names for each audio channel. The intuitive interface makes it very easy for the user to identify the audio sources available on the network. To ease operation they can upload or take pictures of the performers/talent for easy visual recognition. This is ideal in an environment such a reality TV shows where contests frequently change or are eliminated from the show. Source names can also be given local labels. Each channel can be configured in either stereo or mono and displays a signal level meter(s).
Access to the iPad App is provided via the Apple Store
Users can now download the Nixer Remote App and use with a standard iPhones! This allows Production staff to access and monitor any of the audio sources and create their own independent Dante output mix. Any mix of iPads and iPhones (to a total of 4 devices) can be used with each WL64-4.
Nixer Remote App Features:
• A great tool for engineering staff to check correct operation
• The WL64-4 can connect to iPads and iPhones either wirelessly or via a hard-wired network connection
• Any standard web browser can be connected to the WL64-4 via the wireless/control network port to allow simple and quick visual checks of the audio levels
• The web page configuration also allows for logging files to be created to capture and share for system diagnositics and trouble shooting
