    MSC-FLEX-1RU - Overview

    The Matrix Switch MSC-FLEX-1RU Flex Frame can include two complete 12G 16 wavelength systems, plus Gigabit Ethernet or up to eight 48G links. It re-clocks standard UHD, HD and SDI rates of 12GBPS (11.88GBPS), 3G (2.97 Gbit/s), HD (1.485 Gbit/s), and SD (270 Mbit/s). The frame includes a redundant 48VDC 96VA external DC power supply.

    Fiber transmission is the perfect solution to send 3G and 12G SDI video signals when distances exceed practical coaxial/copper applications. Multiple SDI signals can flow over single fiber (and in both directions at the same time), while providing signal security from EMI or malicious interference, etc.

    The Matrix Switch Corporation Fiber Flex frame can be configured in thousands of different ways using their single and four channel conversion modules. Fiber Flex connects to other Fiber Flex frames and Matrix Switch modular routers with plug in fiber interface modules, in addition to their expanding family of Desktop Fiber Conversion boxes.

    For example, a single 1RU Fiber Flex Frame can support two complete sixteen path 12G SDI signals plus gigabit Ethernet over the same fiber. Or, eight 12G four channel to or from a 10Km fiber.
