    Required Accessories

The Intensity Shuttle is now available with the incredibly fast Thunderbolt(MAC) technology. Capture and playback the highest quality SD and HD video in full 10-bit quality, with HDMI, analog component, composite and S-Video connections. Intensity Shuttle Thunderbolt's innovative design is compact and portable, plus you can plug inline with your cables because input connections are on one side, and output connections on the other!

Intensity Shuttle Thunderbolt is powered over the Thunderbolt cable so you don't need cumbersome power supplies. Intensity Shuttle Thunderbolt uses the same high quality electronics as Blackmagic Design's high end capture and playback solutions.

    Highest Quality Video
Most consumer video cameras compress HD video to fit longer recordings on to tape and discs. For video editing compressed media needs to be decoded to play back each frame of video and this puts additional strain on your computer's CPU and limits real time editing effects. Capturing directly with Intensity bypasses camera compression by recording directly from the camera's image sensor, so a low cost consumer camera can be used to capture full HD resolution video in broadcast quality!

PCI Express, USB 3.0 or Thunderbolt
It's easy to add the amazing quality of Intensity to your laptop, desktop or computer workstation! Intensity is available in different models that connect to computers with the fastest PCIe, USB 3.0 or ThunderboltT technology. Intensity uses the latest USB 3.0 and ThunderboltT technology with the fastest data transfer speeds. Now you can capture the highest uncompressed 1080HD video with portable devices that are powered from the computer connection! That's truly portable!

Comments about Blackmagic Design BINTSSHU/THBOLT Intensity Shuttle Thunderbolt:

For almost 2 years I have been using the Hauppauge 1212 to capture video off of different DVR's, one from satellite and one from another TV provider. I have been waiting for a product that does HDMI capture, as the Hauppauge captures in component, S-video and other lesser abilities. The literature for the Black Magic Intensity Shuttle Thunderbolt (hereafter referred to as the BMIT) clearly states that HDMI signals that are from copyrighted devices will not work. Well, that knocks out the PS3 and any set top box. So to capture video from a PS3 or set top box, you have to use component video. Now the problem is with the audio - if you cannot capture your audio/video via HDMI, then the only other AUDIO option is the red and black analog audio. There is not an option to capture audio using digital optical, which can preserve the Dolby Digital 5.1 audio. And to say that the software and setup is not straightforward is an understatement. I am using the BMIT with last year's MacBook Air. You have to setup the video in 3 different places to even be able to see it in the included software. Even after a call to Tech Support, which was pretty good, I was finally able to capture a program, but the recording failed 1-4 minutes in - every time. And finally, the device runs VERY hot. So I am going to try to return this device and stick with my Hauppauge 1212.
