Audio and video can fall out of sync due to the additional time required for video signals to be processed and switched, allowing audio to arrive at the output sooner. The audio delay line corrects this by holding the audio signal for a precise, user-defined duration, allowing the video to catch up so the two will be perfectly synchronized at the final output.
